Five of our students represented the school in the quarterfinals of the Territory-wide Inter-school National Security Knowledge Challenge. This competition strengthens students' understanding of national security laws, including the Constitution, the Basic Law, and the Safeguarding National Security Ordinance.
 

Six Form 5 students secured the First Runner-up position in the AMSAHK Research Competition 2025–26, an initiative supported by HKUMed and CUMedicine. Their project, "DIA-DEP", demonstrated exceptional effort through rigorous epidemiological research and the design of a sophisticated clinical protocol for integrated diabetic care. The team’s professional oral presentation and mastery of complex medical data deeply impressed the university adjudication panel. This remarkable success reflects their unwavering dedication to advancing public health and patient-oriented outcomes.

We are excited to share that our school Form 2 representatives have clinched the championship in the Pan-Asia Pacific International Mathematics Invitation Competition 2026, co-organized by Hong Kong Gifted Education Association and Hong Kong STEM (International Exchange) Association. We are excited to announce that Vivien Lee of 5D has won the championship in the Kowloon – Girls Epee (Grade A) category at the Inter-school Fencing Competition held on February 28^th 2026.
 

Our warmest congratulations to Cherry Chu (graduate of 2024-25) who has received 2 scholarships – Link University Scholarship 2025 and Centaline Charity Fund Scholarship! Being recognised for her exceptional academic achievements, Cherry currently pursues her undergraduate studies in the University of Hong Kong.

 

We are thrilled to announce that our student team “Elderly Miracles”—Joanna Wong (3E), Ocean Wong (3F), Pearl Cheong (4D), and Karena Chui (4E)—has secured the Champion title at Impact Booster 2025. During the finals held on 17 January 2026, co-organised by the Social Enterprise Summit and Chinachem Group, the team impressed the judges with their creative, and actionable solutions for pressing social issues.

 

In addition to this championship, the team received high recognition in another contest named Hong Kong Impact Makers 100, organised by Po Leung Kuk on 21 September 2025. These combined achievements are a testament to the students' innovative spirit and their commitment to creating a positive impact in our community. Through rigorous preparation and teamwork, they have demonstrated that young minds can indeed drive meaningful changes.

In the same contest (Hong Kong Impact Makers 100), another student team, "Connectopia" formed by Fay Mak (4C), Lynette Tang (4E), Kathy Cheng (4F) and Winifred Yeung (4F), has received the Most Popular Impact Makers Booth Award as well.

Congratulations to Chloe Wong of 4F for achieving 3^rd place in the Secondary Section (Cantonese Category) of the National Security Short Speech Competition held on February 4, 2026. This competition is part of the “2026 Let’s Join Hands in Safeguarding National Security” program, jointly organized by the Education Bureau and the Security Bureau. The program aims to strengthen students' sense of national identity, enhance their awareness of national security, and inspire them to contribute to the Motherland.
 

We are proud of Chloe’s accomplishment and encourage all students to continue participating in activities that promote national pride and security.

In the IDP Education Hong Kong English Challenge 2025, an English reading competition organised by IDP Education in partnership with the University of Birmingham (UK), our students demonstrated outstanding excellence in both Secondary School Group A and Group B categories.

As a powerful role model and an avid reader, Siobhán Haughey champions this year's initiative, "Empower through Reading with Siobhán Haughey". She was joined by an inspiring woman leader, Ms. Joanna Hutong for an insightful exchange focused on reading as an active, purposeful habit on a Sunday afternoon (7 Dec 2025).

 

Two SMCC students, Valerie Chiu (F.4) and Lareina Tai (F.5) joined the meaningful event invited by FutureGen Girls Foundation, which aims to inspire students to unlock their potential through the power of books, while also integrating essential AI literacy skills, which are vital for succeeding in a world increasingly shaped by technology. They found the whole event rewarding with the exchanges and the workshop that followed on one of the books, Quiet Power: The Secret Strengths of Introverted Kids, recommended by one of the guest speakers.
